Roger Garaudy was one of the most orthodox supporters of Stalinism, before later turning to Islam. In this tract of February 1966, the surrealists protest against his understanding of the evolution of the Catholic Church; the intuition that develops in this denunciation is that of the collusion of conservatisms, associated in a fallacious vocation for openness and modernity.
