Manuscript signed by André Breton and dated 14 January 1957. "Glory be to the Polyvision of Abel Gance and Nelly Kaplan!" A rather difficult-to-decipher draft of a text that appeared in the second issue of Le Surréalisme, même in March 1957, this document is a critical note on Nelly Kaplan's film Magirama, a work that completely enthralled Breton: citing the authority of Duchamp, Valéry, John Dunne, in support of his feelings, he says he came out of the experience transformed. "I know that he (Abel Gance), whose inalienable patent is shared with Nelly Kaplan, has taken a decisive step towards this new structure of time, which Paul Valery (in his Méthodes of 1896) and Marcel Duchamp (from 1912 to 1921) called for with more or less scepticism or irony, and also John Dunne, who, in 1927, succeeded in apprehending theoretically in his little-known work, An Experiment with Time. I have always thought that this new structure that scientists and philosophers are trying to discover can only be revealed through new affective states. They are more than just a spark in Magirama."
