Manuscript by André Breton of an article published in Combat on 25 May 1950 under the title ‘Protest’ and dealing with the publisher Jean-Jacques Pauvert’s fight with the censors.

- 1/2 page in-4° handwritten in black ink by Breton and dated, relating to Sade:
‘As if it were mysteriously to compensate for the incredible severity of the fate he experienced during his lifetime, Sade’s posthumous good fortune is not only distantly to attract interpreters who are most worthy of him, but also to do so on this supremely thunderstruck ground that is his work…’
