This letter of recommendation for José Pierre is undated, but its presence in the Surréalisme, même file is proof enough that it dates from 1956-1958. André Breton seems to have been heeded, as José Pierre, a Parisian, wrote to him in the summer of 1959. [Atelier André Breton website, 2005]
