Blackwater River, Middle Sepik, New Guinea
Long face framed by two small projections, a bun and a beard. The face, surrounded by herringbone carvings, is divided in two by the long nasal passage and has round, protruding, pupiled eyes. The sculpture is covered in a thick black coating.
