Description

Manuscript fragments from the 1952 radio interviews with André Parinaud, Entretiens. Interview XV.

A few fragments of the 1952 Entretiens radiophoniques with André Parinaud, elements of which are dispersed throughout Breton’s archive of papers. Here, the meeting with Trotsky (Interview XIV), the threat of the recuperation of surrealism and its cultural domain by Christian thought (Interview XV) are broached in manuscript form, differing slightly from the version published by Gallimard and reprinted in volume 3 of the complete works. [Atelier André Breton website, 2005]

Manuscrits autographes, sd [1952].
Incomplete text, with deletions and corrections relating to the collective tract: ‘A la niche les glapisseurs de Dieu’ published by Breton and his colleagues:
'In the same period, surrealism also had to defend itself against attempts at recuperation, and the most outrageous claims: it was a matter of nothing less than the rediscovery of aspirations that were, if not common to, then at least compatible with certain Christian points of view…'.
