Breton a commencé ses études de médecine à Paris en 1914. Il est mobilisé en février 1915, puis envoyé faire ses classes à Pontivy. Il est versé à la 2e section d'infirmiers militaires à Nantes en juillet 1915. Après quoi il demande de rejoindre le centre neuro-psychiatrique de Saint-Dizier (Haute Marne) de juillet à novembre 1916. [Anne Egger, 2023, site André Breton]
