Description

Objet de parure placé le long du mur de l'atelier.

Coquillage façonné. Coupé, poli et percé pour en faire un ornement de parure : élément de collier ou pendentif.

Tête de conus (coquille de « mollusque gastéropode » ou mollusca gastropoda) façonné à fins d'élément de parure. L'ornement porte une étiquette ainsi rédigée : « Shell ornament from the tomb of an old Muéan chief named Paleiki. Died between the time of Captain Cook and Jn. Williams : Say between 1780 & 1820. When this tomb was disturbed in 1893 his skull was sent to the Edinburgh college and Euraemo (?) museum lent by R. H. Cullen. » À l'intérieur, trace d'un ver marin. [Anthony JP Meyer, 2017]
