Description

In a letter from April 8th 1955, Breton shared his impressions with Molinier of the photo album the latter had sent him: "Personally, I admired La femme Succube (sensational)[...]" (..) "Succube - That female creature of temptation which haunts the other side of life, the one that one approaches with one's eyes closed. Although she is usually described as being repulsive, she can be admirably beautiful. Be that as it may, there is little probability that any man is capable of escaping her advances, whether she decides to exhaust him in her arms or to desert him along the way. Identifiable among the succubi Mmes d'Uctil, d'Ouçamer, la d'Ilu, etc."
