    Description

In April 1964, the exhibition on Surrealism at the Charpentier gallery organised by Patrick Waldberg elicited a scathing response from Breton, in this letter to André Parinaud, 2nd stage. In April 1964, retaliatory measures were implemented in response to the exhibition organised by Patrick Waldberg at the Charpentier gallery, an example of which we have here: a draft letter to André Parinaud, in which Breton mentions some articles that had appeared in the press (Jean-François Revel, Gérard Legrand) and no longer even pretends to be indignant about Pastoureau's trickery. [Atelier André Breton website, 2005] Signed autograph letter to André Parinaud, Paris, April 1964. - 1 page in-4° handwritten, dated and signed by Breton of a letter sent to André Parinaud concerning the forthcoming Surrealist exhibition at the Galerie Charpentier. Erasures and corrections. "I appreciated - needless to say - the particular attention that required asking for the testimony of this doorman (Pastoureau), who one might have thought had long since turned to dust.” [Auction Catalogue, 2003].
